趁著元旦連假設計了一頂帽子給爸爸
因為爸爸頭型較圓，市面上的帽子就算頭圍夠寬，但戴起來長度都稍嫌不足
所以這次設計除了讓帽子鬆軟外，也盡量打得長一些^^
花樣設計過程畫了無數張圖，實際共做了3片織片，測量大小跟圖樣的感覺
最近迷上Aran花樣，希望在慢慢的練習過程中，有一天可以設計出更複雜的圖樣^^
這一篇練習目標是嘗試自己寫讓人看得懂的織圖

I've designed a hat to my papa during the 4 days new year holiday
The reason why I did this hat was pretty simple-- my papa's head is average bigger than most people, so it is really hard for him to find a suitable hat for himself in the store.
Create a pattern by myself is not an easy job, that I've drawn a lot of pattern and tried knitting to see how did it look like before I decided to work on this pattern.
The pattern written at here was just my practice of pattern writing skill, so it may be tricky for someone to read......but I want to hone my skill
In order to improve(and i really want to), I'm open for any suggestions, questions with my appreciation :-)

Jan.26 modified English and Chinese instructions,
- 2/1 LPC should read: sl 2 to cn, hold in front, p1; k2 from cn.
- The Crown is worked in the round
- Row 8. p2, k1, p1, 2/1 RPC, k1, p1,k1,p1, 2/1 LPC, p1, k1, p2
- Row10. p2, k1, p1, 2/1 LPC, k1, p1,k1,p1, 2/1 RPC, p1, k1, p2
I love your hat. I am a new knitter and made a hat with a cabled band that I really liked. When I tried to make it again in a heavier weight yarn, it just didn't work. I am going to try your pattern and see if it will work with my yarn. Thanks! Both yarns were bulky weight but one was bulkier than the other.

ReplyDeletehmmm...maybe you can use smaller needle with that bulkier yarn to obtain gauge? just suggestion :-)

Hi again, I tried to post from my ipad and that didnt' work, so hopefully you aren't getting this twice. I finally got some yarn for this hat. I am having a problem early on and hope you can help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I am getting one side of the diamond on the right side and one side on the wrong side. I knitted the first 6-7 rows of the band twice with the same results. Any ideas of what might be going wrong? Thanks

DeleteI've found this problem early and it was already fixed, so you'll have to download the new version :)
